Iran Air 727 Crash Lands in Tehran... on Two Wheels!

An Iran Air Boeing 727 passenger plane landed at the Mehrabad airport in Tehran last Tuesday, and there's nothing remarkable about that. What was amazing was the fact that the pilot had lost the nose gear and had to make the landing on the rear two wheels alone.
Luckily, or skillfully, none of the 94 passengers and 19 crew were hurt. And an airport worker waiting for the jet to land caught the whole amazing episode on tape.
Below is the video showing the incredible landing and, if it weren't for the fact that it's known there was a problem with the landing gear, it's hard to notice anything wrong.
Until the plane taxis further down the runway and the nose hits the pavement.
A similar happening occurred several years ago at LAX and the angles caught on tape there were amazing. There was a helicopter up above and plenty of cameras all around on the ground. So far, it looks like this is the only video of the Iran Air crash landing to make it on to the web.
But that doesn't make it any less amazing.
Have a look and be happy that everybody made it home alive that night. It's not very likely many Americans would be making a trip to Tehran any time soon. But if they were, this is the guy anyone would want up front.
Well done, Captain! You've earned your wings...
