Mexico City, April 8 (IANS/EFE) Fifty-nine bodies have been found in eight mass graves in northeastern Mexico, officials said.
Police found the mass graves in Tamaulipas state while investigating into reports that said people travelling on a bus had been abducted in the area.
'In the first six graves, 11 bodies were found, while 43 were found in the seventh and five more in the eighth,' the Tamaulipas state government said in a statement.
President Felipe Calderon has issued a statement condemning the killings and calling for an investigation to determine who was responsible for the murders and who the victims were.
The killings 'underscore the cowardice and total lack of scruples' of Mexico's criminal organisations, Calderon said.
