A young Bronx mother was fatally shot by a Facebook friend, police said.
Bolivia Beck, 21, was not the intended target when she was gunned down Monday night at the Millbrook Houses in the South Bronx, police sources said. Beck, who had been walking with her boyfriend, died Wednesday.
Police are looking for Gary Davis, who encountered the couple about 7:30 p.m. at 137th St. and Cypress Ave. Sources said Davis, 21, whipped out a handgun and squeezed off two shots.
Davis, the sources said, was aiming for ex-con Joey Colon, 21, but mistakenly hit Beck. The mother of a 4-year-old girl was shot in the head. The young mom was taken to Lincoln Hospital where she died Wednesday.
The suspected gunman, who ran off after the shooting, is "quite remorseful, but we just can't find him," a police source said yesterday.
Investigators said Beck and Davis, who goes by the name Kb Boss Davis on the social networking website, were at least acquainted. Beck's Facebook page says she worked at Toys "R" Us and attended the New School for Arts and Sciences.
"We wish he'd come in and tell detectives about it himself," a police source said of Davis.
Police released a mugshot of Davis who has prior arrests for assault and robbery. He's 5-feet-10 and weighs 160 pounds.
Beck has no prior arrests, while her boyfriend served two years for robbery and possession of a weapon.
