Portuguese Flintstones House

Many people believed this Portuguese cottage was a Photoshop hoax when it first appeared on the internet as it seems impossible that a house could really exist squished between two enormous boulders. It does though. A true treasure, it's one of a kind.

Located in Nas montanhas de Fafe in Portugal, it certainly has a prehistoric feel, especially to all of us who grew up watching the Flintstones cartoon. It could come right out of Wilma and Fred's world with the boulders on either side. The house is rather squished at the front with just room for a door and a tiny window above it.

The back, however, has at least four windows, giving light to the interior. Built on a windswept rocky hill, its location feeds right into the otherworldly feel. A Portuguese news station and an article in the Daily Mail both put a stop to the notion of this being a hoax; instead this really is a home built into boulders.
